Casserole Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the wild rice according to package instructions, usually around 45 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion, garlic, carrots, celery, and mushrooms for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked wild rice, sautéed vegetables, chicken, and cream. Stir until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and Parmesan until crumbly. Sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until top is golden brown.
- Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
