Pie Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the crust: Combine flour, butter, and salt, then roll out for your pie dish.
- Layer toasted pecans evenly across the bottom of the crust.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate into the filling mixture.
- Pour the filling over the pecan base and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least an hour before serving.
