Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the vegetables: slice the zucchini, red bell pepper, and mushroom, and break the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince 4 cloves of garlic and measure out 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds. Introduce ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, then stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add remaining minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Toss in sliced mushrooms; cook for 2 minutes. Then add broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper; stir fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Assemble the bowl: place a scoop of steaming rice in a bowl, top with the stir-fried ground beef mixture, and finish with sautéed vegetables. Drizzle remaining pan sauce if desired.
