  • 1 tablespoon Sugar helps with browning
  • 3/4 cup Warm Water adjust based on wetness of sourdough discard

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together your sourdough discard, warm water, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 3-4 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into bite-sized pieces (about 1 inch) and roll into small balls.
  6. Bring a pot of water to a boil and lower the pretzel bites into boiling water for about 30 seconds.
  7. Sprinkle the boiled bites with flaky sea salt and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden-brown.
  8. Brush the warm bites with melted butter if desired, and let cool slightly before serving.
