Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and all-purpose flour. Mix on low speed until crumbly.
  3. Transfer the dough to a clean surface and shape it into a ball. Roll out between parchment paper to about 1/3 to 1/2-inch thick.
  4. Cut out shapes using a 3-inch round cookie cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spaced 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden brown.
  6. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
