Cupcake Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
- In a large bowl, beat the melted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Mix alternatingly with milk.
- Spoon the batter into cupcake liners and bake for 20-25 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
- Prepare the pecan filling in a saucepan, combining brown sugar, maple syrup, and melted butter. Stir in toasted pecans and cook until bubbly.
- Once the cupcakes cool, scoop out the center and fill with warm pecan filling.
- Top the cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and drizzle caramel sauce. Optionally sprinkle with more chopped pecans.
- Finish by brushing with caramel sauce for a shiny appearance.
