  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together ½ cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 cup of brown sugar for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in ¼ cup of pure maple syrup, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Scoop out portions of dough and roll them into 1-inch balls on the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Flatten each ball gently, leaving about 2 inches of space between them.
