Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 12 Egg Roll Wrappers Keep covered to prevent drying out.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened for easy blending.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Mix with Monterey Jack for a twist.
  • 2-3 Jalapeños Adjust based on spice preference, remove seeds for milder rolls.
  • 4 oz Bacon Cooked and crumbled for best results.
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Finely chopped for even distribution.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Use fresh minced garlic for a stronger taste.
For Frying
  • 2-3 inches Oil for Frying Vegetable oil can be used for neutral flavor.

Equipment

  • Deep Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Slotted spoon

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, finely chopped green onions, and garlic powder. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of filling in the center, fold bottom corner over the filling, tuck, fold sides over, and roll to seal.
  3. In a deep skillet, add enough oil for frying, about 2-3 inches deep, and heat to 350°F (175°C). Test with a piece of wrapper; if it sizzles, oil is ready.
  4. Carefully add 3-4 egg rolls at a time to the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes, turning until golden brown.
  5. Remove egg rolls with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes.
