Step-by-Step Instructions for Easter Ham and Cheddar Pinwheels
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Allow puff pastry to thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Roll out into a rectangle approximately 1/8-inch thick.
- Spread the Filling: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the puff pastry. Layer sliced ham and shredded cheddar cheese evenly.
- Roll the Pastry: Starting from one side, roll the pastry tightly into a log. Pinch the edges to seal.
- Chill & Slice: Chill the rolled pastry log in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Cut into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush egg wash over the tops of the pinwheels. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Allow the pinwheels to cool slightly, arrange on a platter, and serve warm.
