Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Add warmed milk, beaten eggs, and melted butter. Mix to form a soft dough. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
  2. Turn the risen dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth. Shape into a ball, cover, and rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Punch down the dough, divide into portions, and roll into 1.5 inch balls. Place on a floured tray and let rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry dough balls for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Whip cream with vanilla extract and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Put filling in a piping bag.
  6. Poke a hole in each cooled doughnut and fill with whipped cream until resistance is felt.
  7. Dust filled doughnuts with powdered sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.
