Ingredients

For the Tea
  • 2 bags Black Tea Bags Offers a robust flavor base; swapping with loose leaf tea can enhance freshness.
  • 2 cups Water Essential for brewing tea and making the mango puree; use hot water for optimal steeping.
For the Mango Puree
  • 1 cup Ripe Mango Infuses natural sweetness and tropical flavor; frozen mango or mango nectar are great alternatives.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Adds sweetness; agave syrup can be used as a substitute.
For Serving
  • Ice Ice Keeps your drink chilled; use frozen mango chunks or tea cubes to prevent dilution.

Equipment

  • Kettle
  • Heat-resistant pitcher
  • medium saucepan
  • Fine mesh sieve

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Homemade Mango Iced Tea
  1. Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a kettle. Pour the hot water over 2 black tea bags in a heat-resistant pitcher. Steep for 10 minutes.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of water with one ripe diced mango. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 10 minutes, mashing the mango occasionally.
  3. Strain the mango puree through a fine-mesh sieve into the pitcher with the steeped tea, pressing the puree to extract as much liquid as possible.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of honey to the mixture and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool at room temperature for a few minutes.
  5. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mango slices or mint if desired.
