Step-by-Step Instructions for Earthquake Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the shredded coconut across the bottom of the baking dish and layer with chopped pecans.
  3. Mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the coconut and pecan layers evenly.
  5. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, melted butter, and powdered sugar until smooth.
