  • 500 grams Ground Meat (beef and pork mix) Can substitute with turkey or chicken.
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs Panko for extra crunch or soaked stale bread.
  • 1 large Egg Can be replaced with a flaxseed mixture.
  • 1 medium Onion Sauté for a mellower taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Dijon or spicy mustard recommended.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley Chives or cilantro can be used as substitutes.
  • to taste Spices (Salt, Pepper, Paprika) Adjust seasoning as desired.
For the Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Oil Any cooking oil with a high smoke point.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the ground meat with breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, mustard, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into patties about ¾ inch thick.
  4. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Fry the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the cooked Frikadellen to a paper towel-lined plate and serve hot.
