- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Warm the milk, then mix in butter and egg before combining with the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth for 1 hour.
- Mix cherries, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch in a bowl to prepare the filling.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread the cherry filling evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
