  • 1 cup Whole Milk Can swap with half-and-half for richer texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce Enhances umami flavor.

  • 2/3 cup Crispy Fried Onions Reserve some for the final bake.

Equipment

  • 9x9 inch baking dish
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. If using frozen green beans, begin by thawing and draining excess water. For fresh green beans, trim the ends and blanch in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. If using canned, drain well. Set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup, whole milk, and soy sauce. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the prepared green beans into the creamy mixture along with crispy fried onions and ground black pepper. Avoid mashing the beans.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish and bake for about 25 minutes until bubbling.
  6. After 25 minutes, stir gently, then top with remaining crispy fried onions and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
