- In a large bowl, combine boneless skinless chicken thighs with vegetable oil, grated garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and salt. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the spice mix by combining white pepper powder, additional salt, brown sugar, and five-spice powder in a small bowl and mix well.
- After marinating, coat the chicken with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (176°C). Cook coated chicken for 10 minutes, flip, spray oil, and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 5 more minutes.
- Toss cooked chicken with half of the spice mix. Garnish with basil and hot peppers, and serve with lemon wedges.
