Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add egg noodles. Cook until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain the noodles.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Stir in the cooked chicken and half of the shredded cheddar cheese, then fold in the drained egg noodles until well coated.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading evenly. Top with remaining cheddar cheese and sprinkle cooked bacon if desired.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
