Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil 4 cups of water, steep 2 black tea bags for 5-7 minutes, then remove tea bags and let cool.
  2. Peel and slice a 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, pit and halve the fresh cherries.
  3. Simmer sliced ginger and halved cherries with 1 cup of water for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to extract liquid.
  5. Combine the strained liquid with the cooled brewed tea in a pitcher.
  6. If desired, add honey to taste to the mixture.
  7. Chill the combined tea in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  8. Serve over ice, garnish with cherry slices or mint if desired.
